天門山
天門山，張家界最早被記入史冊(cè)的名山，海拔1518.6米，距市區(qū)僅8公里，是張家界最具代表性的自然景觀之一。長久以來天門山不僅以其神奇獨(dú)特的地質(zhì)外貌、秀美無比的自然風(fēng)景令人矚目，更因其深遠(yuǎn)博大的文化內(nèi)涵、異彩紛呈的人文勝跡聞名遐邇，被尊為張家界的文化之魂、精神之魂，有湘西第一神山的美譽(yù)。
天門山山體孤峰高聳、氣勢(shì)臨空獨(dú)尊，世界最高海拔的穿山溶洞天門洞，懸于千尋素壁之上，成為奇絕天下的勝景，也成就了當(dāng)?shù)厣詈�、大氣的“天文化”和“仙山文化”。天門山是張家界的第二個(gè)國家森林公園，山頂保存有完整的原始次森林，一年四季野趣盎然，加之溶丘石芽遍布，奇石秀木結(jié)伴而生，猶如神仙造就的盆景大觀園。占地萬余平方米的天門山寺，自明朝以來香火鼎盛，是湘西的佛教中心�！疤扉T洞開、鬼谷顯影、獨(dú)角瑞獸”等六個(gè)千百年來的難解之謎，更是為天門山渲染著撲朔迷離、神秘出塵的氣氛。
天門山的旅游交通設(shè)施堪稱驚世之作，將為游客帶來充滿震憾的旅游體驗(yàn)�！疤扉T山索道”、“通天大道”同“天門洞”、“空中盆景花園”一起被人譽(yù)為四大奇觀。天門山索道，是世界早最長的單線循環(huán)式客運(yùn)索道，長7455米，高差1279米，將帶游客從現(xiàn)代城市氛圍直接投入原始空中花園的懷抱。索道運(yùn)行途中風(fēng)景變化萬千，游客能有猶如凌空飛仙般的神奇體驗(yàn)，又如融身于一幅壯麗的山水畫長卷。被稱為通天大道的天門山盤山公路，全長不到11公里，海拔卻從200米急劇提升至1300米，大道借山勢(shì)扶搖直上，九十九彎彎彎緊連，層層疊起，宛若飛龍盤旋，直通天際，令人嘆為觀止，堪稱天下第一公路奇觀。
Tianmen Mountain, a famous mountain first recorded in the history of Zhangjiajie,has an elevation of 1518.6 meters.It is only 8 kilometers far from the downtown and is one of the most representative natural sceneries of the people by its miraculous and unque geographic cultural connotations and famous colorful humanistic sites. 景區(qū)簡介
天門山是張家界地區(qū)最早載入史冊(cè)的歷史名山，古稱嵩梁山，云夢(mèng)山，于三國吳永安六年（公元263年），形成天然穿山溶洞天門洞，吳王孫林因此而將嵩梁山改名為天門山。天門山1992年7月被國家林業(yè)部批準(zhǔn)為張家界地區(qū)的第二個(gè)國家森林公園。它距市區(qū)公8公里，車程約束力15分鐘。海拔1518.6米,山體占地96平方公里,為四面絕壁的臺(tái)形孤山，屬典型的喀斯特巖溶地貌。天門山山頂相對(duì)平坦，面積達(dá)2平方公里，保存有完整的原始次生林,擁有世界罕見的高山珙桐群落。天門山的文化底蘊(yùn)博大深厚，“天文化”、“仙山文化”、“隱逸文化”和“佛教文化”等四大文化并行不悖，且集佛、道、儒于一體，尤以佛道文化和神秘的民間傳說聞名遐邇，是張家界的文化圣地，有湘西第一神山的美譽(yù)。占地邁出余平方米的天門山寺自明朝以來香火鼎盛，是湘西的佛教中心。三皇之一的神龍、雨師赤松子、縱橫家鼻祖鬼谷子均在天門山留下了可供后人追訪的遺跡。而“天門洞開、鬼谷顯影、天門翻水、野指藏寶、獨(dú)角瑞獸、天門轉(zhuǎn)向”的6個(gè)千百年來難解之迷，更是為天門山渲染著撲朔迷離、神秘出塵的氣氛。
